Como Rotary is dedicated to making a meaningful difference in our local community. Our projects focus on improving quality of life, supporting vulnerable groups, and creating lasting partnerships.

🛠️ Manning Men’s Shed – Facility Upgrades

  • $6,000 total funding: $3,000 District Grant + $3,000 Club contribution
  • Funded new storage compactus, external fencing, and paved areas
  • Supports a welcoming and functional space for members

🧒 Adventure Playground – Boronia Pre-Release Centre

In partnership with Soroptimist International South Perth and Manning Men’s Shed, Como Rotary helped deliver a vibrant new playground for children visiting Boronia.

  • Joint contribution of $10,000
  • Final playground value estimated at $50,000–$60,000
  • Manning Men’s Shed built several custom play items
  • A powerful collaboration between community partners!

🛋️ Starting Over Support (SOS)

  • $3,000 donation to help families starting fresh after crisis
  • Members also donate kitchenware, furniture, and home essentials
  • Demand for SOS services continues to grow — and so does our support

🎓 Carson Street School – Ongoing Support

  • $2,700 donated for Sphero ball robots to aid student development
  • New Sewing Group established to create custom clothing for students
    • Como Rotary donated $700 in start-up materials
  • Assisted with funding their new school bus

🏀 Moorditj Keila – Empowering Indigenous Youth

  • $2,134 donation to fund new children’s basketball uniforms
  • Uniforms feature the Como Rotary logo to symbolize our support

🩺 Indigenous Medical Scholarship

  • Supported through Australian Rotary Health (ARH)
  • $2,500 Club contribution, matched by government

  • $1,100 support for the Engaging Young Leaders Program (via Southcare)
  • Prepares young professionals for leadership roles in Aged Care & Not-for-Profit sectors

🌭 Walk to D’Feet MND – Fundraising in Action

  • Como Rotary hosts a sausage sizzle at the annual MND WA walk
  • Proceeds (~$1,500) go directly to Motor Neurone Disease Association WA
